American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

El Paso is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and El Paso follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Our family has been driving from the Northeast to pick up loafs of Medium Rye from Marina's for many years now. I figured I would leave a nice review and just say if you have a German heritage this is probably the best place in town to find all your bakery needs. All the pastries are amazing, although I wish they sold more pretzels at times. Finding all the German cold cuts in El Paso to accompany the bread has been a challenge though, they become harder to find each year, but it is what it is. Thank you always for the amazing bread!

My mother and I visited Marina's German Bakery for the first time today and it was amazing. The food was so good and so fresh! We have been looking for a good bakery here in El Paso for a while and today we found it. Growing up in Germany puts a lot of the bakery items at Marina's to the test, but they all passed with flying colors! Thank you for giving my mother and I an nostalgic experience! Sincerely, Stephanie

This is a perfect cafe if you are into a cozy, charming, and picturesque cottage aesthetic. I absolutely love small cafes and I frequent local ones often but this is one of my absolute favorites in El Paso. I stop by every so often for lunch and it's so much more elevated compared to pretentious coffee shops charging for overpriced coffee. The prices are very reasonable, I generally get a $5 coffee and pastry combo, and the coffee is also great. They have a variety of pastries and the staff are knowledgeable about German food which leads me to think it's authentic. Pictured is a poppyseed pastry and has been my favorite pastry so far. They also serve savory food for lunch as well, which I haven't tried yet, and have seating available.

We purchased three cakes for my 70th birthday celebration. We had tiramisu, cheesecake and naked cake. Our guests loved all three. I dealt with the owner Luis, who permitted us to pick up the cakes on Sunday, the day of the event. They are closed on Sundays to the public. He also texted me on Sunday to let me know the cakes were ready for pick up. Great customer service, reasonable prices, and quality products. A gem of a bakery in El Paso.

Horrible customer service (no greeting, death stare as I ordered and no thank you on the way out) and cake frosting was beyond bland β¦. I understand that German cakes have minimal sugar (which I appreciate), but there there was none!!! Felt as if I was eating soft wax. Yuck !!!!! Never again Ordered for my daughterβs 15th bday and she didnβt even have a full slice.
